4 things I learnt this week

1. Sometimes we have to have the strength to let go to attract new positive possibilities in our life.

2. Fear holds us back and so often leads to missed opportunities. Do not give up or change direction  just because you have experienced delays - stick with it, have faith and trust the universe.

3. If you are in a relationship that empowers you, stay, if not it is time to move on so that new love can find it's way to you.  Follow your heart, take the risk, greater happiness is ahead of you.

4. As life flows and brings change and new-ness into your life, embrace it.  You deserve happiness.

The art of living

The art of living alone does not mean renouncing the world.
The art of being Alone simply means that you are not dependent on anybody else.
You enjoy people, you love people, you share everything with people,
but you are capable of being alone, and yet blissful.
That is the path of meditation....

The Dance

Show me how you follow your deepest desires,
spiralling down into the ache within the ache,
and I will show you how I reach inward and open outward
to feel the kiss of the Mystery, sweet lips on my own, every day."

Purpose

Each one of us is very much needed and we all have our role to play adding to the success of the whole.

In the great symphony of life, we all have important parts to play, all of our contributions are valuable and integral to the magic of the music played.

Don't ever think that you are not important enough.  If you ever doubt why you are alive, shift your gaze from what you haven't achieved, don't look at seeminly failed relationships and days where things go wrong, rather to focus on your great successes, the lives you've touched, the people who have made a difference in  your life and the joy you've shared.

When we can be fully present in everyexperience, we bring the fullness of our bodies, minds and spirits to the moment and we make space for creation and opportunity.

Without pain, without contrast, without knowing what we don't want, we would not make space for joy and for creation of what we do.  How do we know it's cold? Because we know what it's like to feel the warmth of the sun on our face.  How do we know that we prefer the sun on our faces, because we have a breezy morning where the wind touches us, and with that contrast our desire is born.
Set the intnetion to open yourself to receive the best from the universe in return for being present, and living your best life.

Desiderata

Go placidly amid the noise and haste, and remember what peace there may be in silence.
As far as possible without surrender be on good terms with all persons.

Speak your truth quietly and clearly; and listen to others, even the dull and ignorant; they too have their story.

Avoid loud and aggressive persons, they are vexations to the spirit.
If you compare yourself with others, you may become vain and bitter;
for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself.
Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans.

Keep interested in your career, however humble; it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time.

Exercise caution in your business affairs; for the world is full of trickery.
But let this not blind you to what virtue there is; many persons strive for high ideals;
and everywhere life is full of heroism.

Be yourself.
Especially, do not feign affection.
Neither be critical about love; for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment it is as perennial as the grass.

Take kindly the counsel of the years, gracefully surrendering the things of youth. Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune. But do not distress yourself with imaginings.
Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness. Beyond a wholesome discipline, be gentle with yourself.

You are a child of the universe, no less than the trees and the stars;
you have a right to be here.
And whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.

Therefore be at peace with God, whatever you conceive Him to be,and whatever your labors and aspirations, in the noisy confusion of life keep peace with your soul.
With all its sham, drudgery and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be careful. Strive to be happy.

4 things I learnt about happiness

When thinking about what really matters and how to get what you want in life there are a few things one can consider - these are things I've learnt.

1.  When you realise that there's nothing lacking, that you have what you need and you are where you are meant to be, you'll be happier.

2.  When you choose things that are available to you in the present, you will always have what you want.  How awesome!

3.  Life is not about limiting yourself.  It is not just about taking opportunities it's also about making opportunities. Go get them.

4. When we take the time to recognize when we are happy and what that feels like, it becomes easier to recreate. Be a creator!
