it's the great pumpkin ~ charlie brown

Charlie Brown: Hey! I got an invitation to a Halloween party!
Lucy Van Pelt: Is the invitation to Violet's party?
Charlie Brown: Yes. It's the first time I've been invited to a party.
Lucy Van Pelt: Charlie Brown, if you got an invitation, it was a mistake. There were two lists, Charlie Brown: one to invite, and one not to invite. You must have been put on the wrong list.

Linus: He'll come here because I have the most sincere pumpkin patch and he respects sincerity.
Sally Brown: Do you really think he will come?
Linus: Tonight the Great Pumpkin will rise out of the pumpkin patch. He flies through the air and brings toys to all the children of the world.
Sally Brown: That's a good story.
Linus: You don't believe the story of the Great Pumpkin? I thought little girls always believed everything that was told to them. I thought little girls were innocent and trusting.
Sally Brown: Welcome to the 20th century!

have a spooktacular halloween!

just curious

self esteem ~ the way you see it
your self esteem is not eroded by the judgements of those around you or what people say to you... its eroded by your own judgements of yourself and what you say to yourself, when the other person walks away....

things i learnt this weekend

  • Moët Chandon tastes better when someone randomly buys a bottle for you
  • There are some things time does not heal
  • It’s fun to have a non verbal conversation with a stranger
  • There are times when we hurt the ones we love even though we don’t mean to
  • Sometimes there isn’t a “right” thing to say

  • Running in the rain is so much fun – especially balancing on a pair of heels
  • Being there for your friends, and listening to their same stories over and over is all they need Everyone wants to belong to someone
  • You can’t live your life not doing something because you’re afraid – you’ll end up doing nothing
  • An afternoon of vino and laughing with your girlfriends = the BEST medicine
  • Being spontaneous makes me happy

the life you've always wanted

”The moment you take full responsibility for your greatness, your magnificence, your pricelessness and love yourself unconditionally, then live that way without exception, that's when you will end all of your internal struggle and once and for all, have the life you have always wanted.”

ELLE: whahahahahaaa

ME to JO: did u just order and AK 47??? *more confused look on my face, sqinting eyes, frown...

JO AND ENTIRE OFFICE: HAHAHA HAHAH HA HAAAAA

I heart Jozi

so ... last night i'm driving home after an amazing dinner with my friends.... i suddenly see a flash behind me, and think to myself... well, dude, i drive an uno... there's no way i was speeding... maybe someone behind me got caught by a speeding camera.... so i continue driving merrily... and again, i see a flash... now i'm wondering if i am seeing things, coz i didn't see a camera on the side of the road, plus there are not that many cars on the road, and no one is driving like a maniac... (for a change!)....

as i continue down oxford street, i see the sky light up directly behind the Telkom Tower!! it was SO stunning! a thunderstorm was brewing in the night sky... *what an undercover blonde moment i had. the sky lit up so beautifully that i almost wanted to stop driving just to look at it. however... i went straight home, opened my balcony door - i have HUGE glass windows in my lounge, so the view was pretty amazing of the lightening sky - ... my first joburg thunderstorm... the energy in the air was amazing... i just love this city!!

INTERSTING FACT:

The Telkom Tower is the highest structure in Johannesburg, and is probably the city's most recognisable landmark.

It is interesting to note that the height of the Hillbrow Tower is virtually the same as the length of the Titanic (269m).

my way or the highway!

i stumbled upon this site: image chef - where you can customise your own signs!

sometimes it would be easier to express yourself better if you had sign - instead of wasting your breath, you could show the sign to....the irritating guy in the queue, the incompetent waiter, your boss.... your "why must you chew soooo loud" colleague, your dog, your ex, your boyfriend, the guy at the drive-thru, the crazy person who cut you off in traffic... the guy that didnt notice your smile... the guy that did.... ~ so... here goes - try it out and post on your blog, and tag another blogger to do the same! See how creative you can get!

ImageChef.com - Custom comment codes for MySpace, Hi5, Friendster and more

click here to make your own sign now... road sign, door tag, vegas sign, street sign, cinema sign, store sign, taxi sign! Go wild!

joke of the week

I THINK YOU'RE THE FATHER OF ONE OF MY KIDS...

A guy goes to the supermarket and notices an attractive woman waving at him. She says hello. He's rather taken aback because he can't place where he knows her from.

So he says, 'Do you know me?' To which she replies, 'I think you're the father of one of my kids.' Now his mind travels back to the only time he has ever been unfaithful to his wife and says, 'Are you the stripper from the bachelor party that I made love to on the pool table with all my buddies watching while your partner whipped my butt with wet celery???'

She looks into his eyes and says calmly, 'No, I'm your son's teacher.'

Follow your heart

The heart is always right
-- if there's a question of choosing between the mind and the heart
-- because mind is a creation of the society.
It has been educated.
You have been given it by the society, not by existence.
The heart is unpolluted.

quote of the day

just another day in paradise...

Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos into order, confusion into clarity.... It turns problems into gifts, failures into success, the unexpected into perfect timing, and mistakes into important events. Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today and creates a vision for tomorrow.
